Notes One of the Coneygreave fields adjacent to Wall Grange homestead. All on steep slopes falling to the River Churnett. The 'coppiced woodland' definition of 'greave' coupled to 'coney' . rabbit, is logical in this position. The major early farms often had links with bloomery sites: no documentary reference has yet been found for one here. The pool fields have been searched with no success, but coppicing to produce charcoal would not be unlikely.
