Notes Township: Longsdon Farm: Wall Grange A grange of Trentham Priory. Listed in 1291 in Tax. Ecc. and well documented within the Trentham papers. The house occupies a prominent position on a spur above the River Churnet, and while there is a spring marked below it the 'wall' element could just as easily be interpreted in the same way as Wallhill (Rushton) ... a rampart, Tenants named on the map: Mr Deybank, Timothy Harrison Hearth Tax: Wall-grange. Mr Lyonell Harrison 2; Mr Edward Downes 11. SHC 1925, p.162.
